Colmonoy – 4

Colmonoy 4 is a nickel-based hardfacing alloy specifically engineered for excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and moderate impact strength. It is part of the Colmonoy family of alloys developed by Wall Colmonoy, known for extending the service life of industrial components exposed to abrasive and corrosive environments.

The key composition of Colmonoy 4 includes nickel, chromium, boron, silicon, and carbon, which combine to form hard borides and carbides. These hard particles are uniformly distributed throughout a tough, corrosion-resistant nickel matrix, providing exceptional protection against metal-to-metal wear, fretting, and mild corrosion.

Colmonoy – 5

Colmonoy 5 is a nickel-based hardfacing alloy renowned for its exceptional resistance to metal-to-metal wear, abrasion, and corrosion. Designed for use in demanding industrial environments, it forms a tough, wear-resistant surface that significantly extends the life of components exposed to friction, sliding contact, and moderate impact. The alloy consists of a nickel matrix enriched with hard-forming elements such as chromium, boron, silicon, and carbon, which produce hard borides and carbides, giving Colmonoy 5 a typical hardness of 50–60 HRC.

This alloy is especially effective in applications where both wear and corrosion resistance are essential, such as in valve components, pump sleeves, shafts, glass molds, and tools used in the plastics and chemical industries.

Colmonoy – 6

Colmonoy 6 is a high-performance, nickel-based hardfacing alloy designed to provide outstanding resistance to wear, abrasion, and corrosion in severe service conditions. It is particularly well-suited for applications involving metal-to-metal contact, friction, and moderate impact. The alloy contains a balanced combination of nickel, chromium, boron, silicon, and carbon, which together form a tough nickel matrix reinforced with hard boride and carbide particles. This structure gives Colmonoy 6 its characteristic high hardness—typically in the range of 55–60 HRC—and excellent resistance to galling and scuffing.

Its ability to maintain wear resistance and integrity at elevated temperatures also makes it ideal for high-heat environments.
