SS 316

SS316 is a high-grade austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-rich and marine environments. It contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, with the molybdenum content providing enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to SS304.

SS316 offers excellent strength, toughness, and ductility across a wide temperature range and maintains its corrosion resistance even in harsh conditions involving acids, chemicals, and saltwater. It is also non-magnetic in the annealed condition and can be easily welded, machined, and fabricated, making it highly versatile for a variety of industrial applications.
